The Belongil offers a variety of submission options tailored to your work, whether it’s a photo series, editorial project, or article. We welcome all types of creative work, provided it remains unpublished and exclusive to The Belongil during the decision period and, if accepted, until publication.

Submission Options: Digital
At The Belongil, submitting your work for our monthly digital issue is free of charge. Here’s how it works:
- Standard Submission (Free): Simply submit your work, and our team will review it. If accepted, your editorial will be placed in our calendar for publication within 3 to 4 months. Once scheduled, we’ll notify you of the exact publication date.
If you’re looking for quicker turnaround times or additional features, we offer several upgrades:
- Priority Publishing: Want your work published sooner? Opt for priority publishing, and your editorial will go live within approximately 30 days.
- Tearsheet/Layout Creation: Receive a custom-designed tearsheet or layout for your editorial, including The Belongil logo.
- Cover Opportunity: Choose to have your editorial considered for a feature as an alternate cover. Alternatively, you can secure a cover spot by selecting the guaranteed cover option.
- All-in Package: Need it all? With this package, we’ll design your layout and cover, publish your work within 48 hours, and feature your images on Instagram.
Submission Options: Web
If you’re aiming for web publication, we also offer a 48-Hour Expedited Web Submission option. This gets your work featured on our homepage within 48 hours of approval. Tearsheet layouts with The Belongil logo are included, and you can upgrade your submission to ensure social media posts and even a web cover.
Submission Options: Print
For our print issues, we require a minimum of 10 photos that align with the theme and mood board. Submissions must be exclusive and unpublished. The review process consists of two rounds:
- Standard Submission (Free): Submit your work for the first phase of review. If accepted, it will undergo a second review about a week before the deadline. We recommend submitting closer to the deadline for quicker processing.
We also offer upgrades for print submissions:
- Cover Opportunity: Secure a chance to feature your work as an alternate cover.
- Advertorial/Interview: Promote your brand, portfolio, or editorial through a guaranteed 2-8 page advertorial or interview spread.
- Cover: For ultimate exposure, secure a front cover spot, along with up to 8 pages of editorial content and social media features.
Submission Options: Social Media
To be featured on The Belongil’s social media, simply tag your images with #thebelongil. Alternatively, you can submit directly for guaranteed publication on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Choose from options like Instagram stories, posts, or carousels to showcase your work.
Article Submissions
Are you a writer passionate about creating original, engaging content? The Belongil is always on the lookout for fresh voices. Keep in mind that there might be a back-and-forth editing process, so plan ahead if your piece is time-sensitive.
To submit, email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Article Submission Pitch.” Include a brief outline, any notable experts or persons to interview, and your previous work.
We’re looking for concise pitches with a clear structure, covering key points like:
- Point A
- Point B
- Point C
Please include how your piece will benefit our readers and what makes it stand out. If selected, your article will be published either on our web blog or in our magazine.
Writers who contribute to The Belongil are not paid, but the opportunity offers exposure on both web and print platforms. If your submission contains specific links or brands, it may be considered for a sponsored feature.
Portfolio Database and Terms
By submitting to The Belongil, you agree to the following terms:
- Ownership: The photographer owns all rights, including copyright, to the photographs submitted. By submitting, you grant The Belongil the right to publish the work in print, online, or digitally, with appropriate credits.
- Indemnification: You agree to indemnify The Belongil from any claims or proceedings related to the submitted material.
- Free of Charge: Submission is free, but The Belongil does not provide complimentary print copies to contributors. Digital versions are available upon request.
- Model Rights: All participants featured in the photos must have signed over their rights to the photographer.
Submission does not guarantee publication, as all entries are subject to review.
